This mini exam checks everything from lessons 1 to 18. You will use the French sounds, greetings, family and articles, the verbs être and avoir, and also -er verbs, negation, questions, aller, faire, the weather and your daily routine. It is longer than a review test, so take a short break if you need one.

Grammar
- Conjugate the regular -er verb PARLER. je parle, tu parles, il parle, nous parlons, vous parlez, ils parlent
- How do you make a sentence negative? Put ne before the verb and pas after it: je ne parle pas.
- Make this negative: Je parle anglais. Je ne parle pas anglais.
- Give the three ways to ask a question. Intonation (Tu parles ?), est-ce que (Est-ce que tu parles ?) and inversion (Parles-tu ?).
- Give the French question words for where, when, how, why and who. où, quand, comment, pourquoi, qui
- Conjugate ALLER. je vais, tu vas, il va, nous allons, vous allez, ils vont
- How do you say 'to the' with places? au (masculine), à la (feminine), à l' (vowel), aux (plural)
- How do you say 'She goes to the market'? Elle va au marché.
- Conjugate FAIRE. je fais, tu fais, il fait, nous faisons, vous faites, ils font
- How do you say the weather 'It is nice out'? Il fait beau.
- jouer à or jouer de? jouer à + sport (jouer au tennis); jouer de + instrument (jouer du piano)
- How do you say 'I do some sport'? Je fais du sport.
- What is a reflexive verb? Give one example. The action comes back to the speaker: se lever → je me lève (I get up).
- Put a routine in order with connectors. d'abord (first), ensuite (then), puis (then), enfin (finally)
Pronunciation
- Which letters are silent at the end of 'ils parlent'? -ent is silent, so it sounds like 'il parl'.
- How do you pronounce 'je fais'? 'zhuh feh' — the final s is silent.
- How do you pronounce 'vous faites'? 'voo fet' — an irregular form.
- How do you say 'nous allons'? 'noo-za-lon' — liaison turns the s into z, and 'on' is nasal.
- How do you pronounce 'il va'? 'eel va'.
- How do you pronounce 'je ne parle pas'? 'zhuh nuh parl pa' — the e of 'ne' is very light.
- How do you pronounce 'est-ce que'? 'es-kuh' — the e is light.
- How do you pronounce 'qu'est-ce que c'est ?' 'kes-kuh-seh'.
- How do you pronounce 'en bus'? 'on büs' — 'en' is nasal and u is the French u.

- How do you say 'I like music. I do not like sport.' in French? J'aime la musique. Je n'aime pas le sport.
- How do you say 'What are you doing?' in French? Qu'est-ce que tu fais ?
- How do you say 'We are going to the park on foot' in French? Nous allons au parc à pied.
- How do you say 'He is not at home' in French? Il n'est pas à la maison.
